PHPRentals Version 0.5

PHPRentals lets you display your rental properties on your website. There is a full administration section for both the site admin and the landlords
(if you want to run it that way). The detailed search page is located in the /members directory. This is in case you would like to charge your visitors
for access to the rental listings. This script evolved from a custom programmed site, so it is possible there will be some oddities, or something I
forgot.
To install this script requires some basic server knowledge and basic understanding of php and mysql. It has been tested on several Unix varieties.
I haven't tested this on Windows and really don't plan to. If you run into errors please email me at webmaster <at> virxpress <dot> com . Do not ask for help
installing or customizing. We can install the script for you, the fee is $50. We can also customize the script for you. Simply tell us what you want
changed and we will give you a project rate quote.
Excuse the brevity of the documentation, I'll add to it as I can.
Installation:
-------------
1) Download and unzip the files
2) Upload the phprentals directory to your webserver
3) Import the database file
4) Modify the /includes/config.php file to reflect your servers information and database connection info.
5) Chmod the images directory to 777
Site Administration Area
------------------------
www.yourdomain.com/phprentals/admin
This is the site administrators area. You should password protect this area, using your server's control panel password protection feature. Most have
them.
Landlord Administration Area
----------------------------
www.your domain.com/phprentals/landlords
This is the landlords admin area. It comes with a default username/password of guest/guest. You should delete this user and add yourself through
the landlord registration page. You cannot add your password directly to the database, all passwords are MD5 encrypted.
Once everything is uploaded and configured, you should remove the default landlord, and create another.
